For people interested in VR, we now have some nice news from OKO VR Casino and HTC VICE in collaboration with IGT, International Game Technology. So, for the last couple of years, the VR, Virtual Reality, as slowly but steadily entered our ordinary lives. At different events, we do get the opportunity to try them out. Some have also bought them to use for video games etcetera. For us that, more or less, live our lives in the online casino world have VR also started to enter. For example, we have had the opportunity to try out G0nzo’s Quest VR edition inside NetEnt Headquarters. We recently got some news about what is cooking and what might be the next step for playing Virtual Reality slots at online casinos!

This is a very interesting project. OKO VR Casino is a crowdfunding project from a Czech Company, located in Prague. Their goal is to develop a virtual helmet that takes you inside real live casinos and you will be able to play at real tables in real time. They will at the same time develop their own payment solution for this to work out. Needless to say, this is one really groundbreaking projects that could take us into a whole new era of gambling.

Today OKO VR has designed their own helmet and already sold more than 70 000 units. But, don’t run to the stores just yet. The technology team by OKO also has the intention to develop software for more classic headgear like Oculus Rift and HTC VIVE. The latter which also has started a cooperation with IGT…

International Game Technology partners up with HTC VIVE

It is now time for IGT to step into the VR-World as well. By starting a collaboration with HTC and their product VIVE, you will soon be able to try out slot games in “The Virtual Zone” as IGT has come to call it. The VIVE headset has been produced together with Valve Corporation, known for making a lot of popular computer games. This is, of course, a great step for both companies to expand the use of their headset. Probably this product will be used both in online casinos as well as physical casinos. It has already been used introduced at Boyd Gaming’s Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas for an early launch. We haven’t tried it out ourselves, but it sure looks promising.
